On the bigger Black Bay models the polished slab sides can be a bit much, but on the 54 the thin case makes the polished sides look right.all brushed would not be an improvement IMO. I had the Pelagos 39 briefly last year and I currently have the Monochrome (posted my review of it here: Tudor Black Bay 41 ‘Monochrome’ – Beans & Bezels), and I'd go with the Monochrome. My sweet spot is usually 37.5-38mm but I also like thickness of around 10mm and lug to lug 44-45. The 36 black bay actually fit me better but the 36 dial seemed small.
